Postcards of the Americas

A Cities Summit of the Americas Exhibit

Hosted by the Art Students League of Denver (ASLD), Postcards of the Americas creates a fun and accessible medium to celebrate and share information about the places represented at the Summit. ASLD invites people from across the Americas to create postcards. We encourage creators to share perspectives that a visitor to their communities might otherwise miss.

As ASLD receives the postcards, we will display them throughout Denver, in locations where they will be visible to Summit participants and the Denver metro community.

How to participate:

  • Make a postcard:

    • You may make your postcards out of recycled materials or print the ASLD template on heavy card stock (see below and linked here).

    • If you are making your own postcard, please note that standard postcard requirements are:

      • Rectangular

      • At least 3.5 x 5 inches (9x13 cm), and no more than 4.25 x 6 inches (11x15 cm)

      • Heavy card stock

    • You may use any media to on your card (photographs, collages, paintings, drawings, stamps, or writing).

    • On the back (in the message area) please include your name, and the name of the place your postcard represents, including town/city and country.

    • Attach postage. Remember that your stamp choice can also be part of the final piece.

  • When complete, mail your postcards by no later than April 1, 2023, to:

    • Art Students League of Denver

  • Alternatively, Summit attendees may bring finished postcards with them to Denver.

    • If your postcard is particularly fragile or heavy, we recommend either bringing it with you to the Summit or mailing it inside protective packaging such as an envelope. Artists may send a photograph of their postcard to r.basye@asld.org to ensure participation in the event of lost postcards.

If you have questions, you may email Rachel Basye, Executive Director, ASLD, at r.basye@asld.org.
